Day 1 : Selous Game reserves

Meet with your guide at the place of your stays in Tanzania in the morning 07:30 am, drive 5-6hrs to Selous Game reserves, arrival in the afternoon at your lodge where you participate into boat safari along the mighty Rufiji river where you will spot plenty of Hippos, Crocodiles and bird life. Later your proceed to your camp for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Selous Game reserves

Today you will participate in walking safari, and game drives in Selous Game reserves with few hours of leisure at the camp.

Day 3: Selous Game reserves

Today you continue with game drives for a full day which will later be brought us to the part of northern Selous Game reserves with fascinating scenery and wildlife. Arrival at the camp in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park

Depart from Selous game reserves towards Mikumi with game drives en route in the northern part of Selous Game reserves, highlights of the day include the rich variety of bird species, and other mammals including giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, African wild dogs, Hippos, Hartebeest, Wildebeest and many more animals species.

Day 5: Mikumi National Park

Full day game drives in Mikumi National Park

Day 6: Udzungwa Mountains National park

After breakfast in the morning, you depart to Udzungwa Mountains national park, arrival in the afternoon and take part in half-day hiking-bird watching in the rainforest towards Sanje falls for a spectacular view of the great Kilombero valley.

Day 7: Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, you collect your picnic lunch at the camp, drive to Ruaha National Park where you will arrive in the afternoon at the Ruaha river lodge which has the spectacular view of the Great Ruaha River.

Day 8: Ruaha National Park

Full day game drives in Ruaha National Park with a chance to see Elephants, Buffalos, Zebras, Lions, Leopards, and other wild cats

Day 9 : Ruaha National Park

Another full day game drives in Ruaha National Park with a chance to see Elephants, Buffalos, Zebras, Lions, Leopards, and other wild cats

Day 10 : Ruaha National Park

General Packing List

  • In general, pack lightly. Leave room for gifts and souvenirs. Soft­sided luggage packs more easily into the safari vehicle.
  • Always carry passport, airline tickets and money on your person. A fanny pack or moneybag that hangs around the neck works well.
  • In case luggage doesn’t arrive the same day you do, put enough clothing and supplies for the first day in your carry­on luggage.
  • If taking a domestic flight luggage weight restrictions range between 15-­20 kgs (33­-44 lbs) total per person.
  • If climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro or Mt. Meru, additional supplies will be needed. Please refer to the Kilimanjaro Packing List.

Footwear

  • Sturdy, comfortable shoes, preferably waterproof. They will get dirty.
  • Tennis shoes or sandals for lounging in the evening
  • Comfortable, breathable socks

Clothing

  • Shorts, mid­-thigh or longer (not advisable for village visits)
  • Lightweight, breathable pants
  • Short-­sleeved shirts, cool and breathable (neutral colors are best, avoid black, dark blue and bright red)
  • Bathing suit if staying at a lodge with a swimming pool or if visiting Zanzibar
  • Long­-sleeved fleece or sweater for evenings and/or early mornings
  • Rain jacket or rain poncho
  • Women: pants (capri-length or longer) and shirts that cover the shoulder are advisable for village visits. Lightweight dresses or skirts that cover the knees are optional depending on how rural your village visit is but can also be worn for evening dining at the accommodations.
  • Men: short­-sleeve shirts with collars (for visiting villages or evening dining at the accommodations).
  • Keep valuable jewelry to a minimum

Note: Laundry service is available at most lodges either at a nominal cost or free of charge in some cases.
